Known as British Columbia's
"Gold Pan City", Quesnel is home of the World's Largest Gold Pan and one
of the best community museums in Western Canada. In downtown Quesnel,
at "Heritage Corner", a cairn commemorating the Collins Overland Telegraph
is situated alongside the Cornish Water Wheel, the 1928 Fraser River Bridge
and the remains of the steam sternwheeler "Enterprise" of 1863. Across
the street is the oldest building in Quesnel, the restored 1882 log Hudson's
Bay Company Building, which is presently a restaurant. The adjoining Riverfront
walking trail takes you past some historic points of interest along the
banks of the Fraser and Quesnel Rivers.
HWY 97 at the south
entrance to the City Centre. Extensive Chinese collection, programs, gifts,
videos, and books.
